Tomas Atelier is founded in 2014 by Idil Hamarat, an industrial designer and craftwoman.
Our atelier is located in Galata - Istanbul, known as the center of the lighting industry where skilled artisans practiced and passed down their craft from generation to generation.

FOUNDER OF TOMAS ATELIER
Idil Hamarat
Idil Hamarat graduated from Yeditepe University, Department of Industrial Design, in 2011. After graduation, she continued to work on interior projects, lighting, and furniture design for more than 10 years in some of the leading design offices in the industry. She is currently working as a full-time designer at Naif Tasarım.
During this period, she began producing her handcrafted designs, which carry traces of her favorite eras, in a metal atelier in Galata, Istanbul. In 2014, she decided to establish her own brand, Tomas Atelier, bringing all her products together under one umbrella.
As a lighting-focused brand, Tomas Atelier merges contemporary trends with design movements that have shaped history, while seamlessly blending traditional manufacturing techniques with modern lines to illuminate spaces and create collectible objects of desire.
